That Which Shiri is Reading: Ancillary Justice
Hot damn, this is an amazing book.
One might assume as much considering the Nebula and the Clarke. I’m not so much for award bandwagon jumping; I like what I like and I don’t much care whether anyone else likes it or thinks it deserves a statuette. In this case, however, spot on ladies and gents. I want to fall into this book and not come out until I’m done (I’m approximately halfway through) and when I am done, I’m going to be thoroughly bummed out because there won’t be any more.
I’m not going to do any sort of summary or plot chat because I truly and honestly don’t want to spoil the magic in any way. And in case I haven’t made it clear, Leckie is some kind of crazy word alchemist. If this thing doesn’t triple crown it at the Hugos, I will eat the copy I am definitely going to order when the second book in the series comes out in October. And then, I shall have to buy another one so I can read it over and over and over and over and over and over again the way I have Good Omens and American Gods.
Go forth, find a copy, and clear your schedule.
