Another steampunk novel, you say. After all your bitching, you wonder.
A bunch of authors I really admire had very positive things to say about The Clockwork Dagger, so I bit the bullet.
And it is, so, far, in possession of all those traits I wish for and rarely receive in such books: plot before convention. A certain “believability” within its own context. Compelling characters. Steampunk elements as accessories rather than the hoop-skirted, be-ruffled ball gown ( Browncoats, you know exactly which one I mean). An element of sci-fi.
Oh, happy day.
Now, must cross fingers and toes it maintains…
