Sentenced: Luke 2014/05/18
Jane followed them, her dress gray as ashes, the roses on her habit a failed camouflage.
Shades of Milk and Honey (Glamourist Histories)
This sentence is when Jane, the protagonist, is down about herself, again. She is lost in the society event, and over-shadowed by her little sister. I like how, with maybe some overly ornate language (but it is a Jane Austen pastiche, with a bit of magic thrown in), it captures feeling fake or like you are an outsider while with a group of people.
