Right, so, whatever I’ve said about Amazon (full disclosure: I do self-publish through KDP and I also say nasty things about monopoly because… well, welcome to real life, I suppose), I will be pre-ordering exclusively from Darth Bookstore in the future.  I tried to be good, really I did.  I made my early purchase of Ancillary Sword from Powell’s, superior where brick and mortar is concerned but not as much with the online.  And then I had to wait.  I had to wait six whole days after release day for my copy to show up.  SIX WHOLE DAYS.

I’m kidding.

No, I’m not.  I can usually handle patience and I typically giggle in the face of the need for instant gratification, but this is the sequel to Ancillary Justice we’re talking about.  Imperial Radch #2.  When I say I wanted it the minute it was released, I mean exactly that.

OTHER PEOPLE HAD ALREADY FINISHED IT BY THE TIME IT ARRIVED ON MY DOORSTEP.
